Central Washington Wildfires

Posted: August 23, 2015 in Uncategorized

The fire up the mountains by our camp has been stabilized. We moved the Twinkie back up the mountains. It’s still smoky, the whole town lower down is covered in smoke, it’s eerie. Ash is covering everything.

We saw this Awesome cloud roll in the other night before going back up.

Flippin’ smoke! Beautiful picture. But as beautiful as it is, it’s really a sad reminder of lives and physical memories lost. I watched videos of the fires and couldn’t help but be choked up by it. I felt distraught. I felt all of the emotions of those who lost everything. I want so bad to help, but there’s only so much I can do for myself first.

We’re inside the MT border near Idaho and every morning we look out the window to see if the smoke has abated enough to get a hike in. At least we’re not finding ash on our RV! Are you planning to stay there awhile or move away from the firey fallout?
